IN its 68th year the Coaley Produce Show received a record number of entries.

Over 90 people entered 643 different items at the annual horticultural event.

the tables were crammed with seasonal fruit and vegetables, carefully made crafts and floral exhibits.

It was a difficult job for the judges as well with 20 different lemon drizzle cakes to taste and distinguish between and 22 pots of homemade jam.

Marion Cook, one of the produce show organisers, said: "It was lovely to see the village hall full of items Coaley villagers had made or grown. the items made from wood were particularly impressive from intricate animal carvings to chairs, stools and even a croquet set."

the committee also said a sad farewell to their chairman Chris Purnell, who retired from the committee after 30 years.

"We are hugely grateful to her contribution over the years and do appreciate all her efforts," added mrs Cook. "It was fitting that her last show was such a great success."

i'm a michigan fan. gotta say congrats. good luck in the rose bowl. bring one home for the big 10

  2. Eric M says:

If OSU loses, then it's a tie between Wisconsin and MSU. MSU owns the head to head advantage, so they'll go to the rose bowl.

  3. baystreet690 says:

It's because of the stadiums. For instance, the Rose Bowl is held at Rose Bowl Stadium. They are all relatively bowl-shaped.
